Conclusions And Recomendation Medical Laboratory.
Gathering all the academic, moral and industrial exposure I have achieved for the duration of my attachment at the El-shadai medical laboratory. I have come to appreciate the opportunity SIWES programme provides under-graduate students;
The gift of industrial skill, the gift of moral conduct, the gift of co-operation, the gift of friendship and thus, the pace of our stepping stone to professionalism.
All these put together, renders the arithmetic easy.
To nip the cotton in the bud, experiences were inevitable but a necessary criterion in achieving excellence thus, SIWES provides such opportunities and El-shadai medical laboratory facilitates such for the proposed students.
Experience on how to carry out various clinical laboratory test which includes; Haematology, chemistry, immunology, microbiology. The program has helped expose me to modern technology and also helped in the development of my interactive skill.
Problems Encountered Medical Laboratory
Problems though little, but were quite challenging as in the case of learning phlebotomy, streaking patterns, accurate documentation and so on. There were minimal mechanical and management faults as the laboratory is well equipped and properly maintained.
The continuous interruption of light, incorporative patient, inadequate test strips and mechanical problems.
Supervision should be done with paramount patience as fierce or harsh approaches may be discouraging. Students should also cultivate the habit of co-operation as team work is a very important factor if success is to be achieved.
There should be provision of adequate supply of light for preservation of patient samples; also patients should also be advice to corporate with the workers and proper maintenance of machines should be encouraged in the Laboratory.
