Fertilizer Production: Three Fertilizer Production Process
Production of NPK 20:10:10
Fertilizer Production: Organic fertilizer Production such as nitrogen phosphate potash fertilizer is produced by dry mixing of the four elements used in the production which include urea, muriate of potash, diammonium phosphate & limestone.
Nitrogen-phosphate potash (NPK) fertilizers can be produced manually or with the use of machines are used in production.
Through the following process
- Intake process
- Weighting/conditioning process
- Blending process
- Bagging process
- Stitching process
INTAKE PROCESS:- The fertilizers blending plant have different hopper for the four raw materials used in the production of nitrogen-phosphate potash NKP fertilizer. Each hopper contains electric motor and belt conveyor that is made of fibers that are resistant to chemicals. The electric motors are striated at the end of the conveyor to convey materials inside the hopper to the next stage. The hoppers also serve as storage tank for the raw material.
However, during fertilizer production, urea containing NPK in the ratio (46:0:0) which supplies nitrogen is filled inside the hopper one, muriate of potash with NPK in the ratio (0:0:60) is filled in hopper two, diammonium phosphate containing NPK in the ratio (18:46:0) which supplies phosphate is also filled into hopper three and limestone with NPK in the ratio (0:0:0) is filled inside the four hoppers.
Then the material is conveyed one after the other by belt conveyor propelled by 415V electric motor to the weighing and conditioning by the action of the plant operator in the control room.
WEIGHING AND CONDITIONING PROCESS this section has two functions which are:-
- Weighing and
- Weighting:- The machine is built in large metal hopper with a weighing balance installed inside the hopper. The weighing balance determines the weight of the materials.
CONDITIONING:- It is the breaking or crushing of log of materials inside the hopper. The weighing and conditioning machine contains 415V electric motors and a chain paddle conveyor that transfers the materials to another stage. The plant operator in the control room calculate the grade formula and the quantity which are required to produce in this stage.
After the calculation and weighing of the material the hopper lid is controlled by compressed air from the compressor power plant thereby causing the disposal of the weighted materials into the picking chamber were it is picked by the chain paddle conveyor and transfers it is the blending machine.
BLENDING PROCESS:- This machine contains a lid opening to the chain paddle conveyor 415V electric motor and mixer. The four materials, urea, muriate of potash, diammonium phosphate and limestone are subjected to a great force that carryout the mixing of the four materials to give rise to the production nitrogen-phosphate potash (NPK) fertilizer.
Then the electric motor propel the chain paddle conveyor the product to the bagging machine through the picking chamber at the bottom of the blender.
Bagging Fertilizer Product Process: - This process contain a large metal hopper with air operating lid, clip and a quantity control system. The produced NPK fertilizer is packaged into its bag in this section. In this process bag is chipped at the disposal point the bagging machine and the machine is controlled by the plant operator the control room to set the quantity control system at 50kg or more.
After setting the quantity control system the machine is operated to released the fertilizer into the bag at 50kg, then the clip looses thereby dropping the bags into a belt conveyor with hopper lids closed immediately. The belt conveyor transfers it to the stitching machine.
STITCHING PROCESS:- This stitching machine consists of a thread, needle and a shuttle. Its function is to seal the bagged fertilizer. After stitching the belt conveyor under the machine carries the finished product to the dropping point where it can be sent into the ware house for storage or market for sell.
