Literature has that aqueous solutions (from Globaline Abbott or Heliogen) containing 70part/ml iodine kills the infective larva in 5 minutes or less at 15-30C. This concentration could, therefore, be used to disinfect vegetables intended for consumption without cooking.
Basically prevention of human Hookworm infection depends essentially upon proper disposal of faeces; thus promiscuous deposition of faeces about Huts, villages must be forbidden. The use of human faeces for fertilizing should be avoided. In the tropic with the provision of adequate latrines and treatment, spectacular improvement will be made for the wellbeing of people.
